Pre-Master of Business Administration

Pre-Master of Business Administration

PRE-MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM: (POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA)

The purpose of the Pre-MBA program is to prepare students for admission to an MBA program.

Entry into the program requires:

  • Minimum certified English language competency equivalent to a TOEFL of 540.
  • Some students might not have a 540 TOEFL or equivalent. If the student has a minimum of 500, that student will be accepted and placed into an English Bridging program.
  • Students with less than 500 should take an ESL program and reapply when their score reaches 500.
  • Certified evidence of successful completion of an undergraduate degree program. Such certification will normally be an official transcript with the degree awarded stated on the transcript.
  • Note: Some students may require pre-requisite skill courses such as mathematics or statistics. These requirements will be determined in the admission assessment by the student’s advisor. The pre-requisite skills courses are:
  • MT1200 College Business Math
  • ST2100 Fundamentals of Economic and Business Statistics

Successful completion from the program requires success in all three parts of the program:

  • Minimum certified English language competency equivalent to a TOEFL of 570.
Note: Students should determine whether their target institutions require a test for English language competency and if so, the type and score required.
  • A GMAT or GRE result of 500 or greater.
    Notes:
    • Successful completion of the required program courses is expected to be the single most important GMAT preparatory route for most students.
    • Students should determine whether their target institutions require a GMAT or GRE and if so, the score required.
  • Successful completion with a minimum grade of B in each of the ten following required courses.

The ten required courses are:

  1. CM1100 Business Communications
  2. EC1201 Principles of Microeconomics
  3. EC1202 Principles of Macroeconomics
  4. MI2100 Introduction to Computers and Information Systems

  2. Reference to a previous institution-to-institution agreement.
  3. Reference to a previous Sprott-Shaw assessment.
  4. A review of the course by way of course outline.
  5. Challenge exam

Residency requirement: A minimum of 50% of the course credits must be earned through Sprott-Shaw to obtain the Pre-MBA certificate.

Students, who are unable to attain the required Grade Point Average (GPA) but complete all courses with no grade less than a C-, will be awarded a post baccalaureate certificate in business administration.
Note: All students must note that the Pre-MBA program offered by Sprott-Shaw does not guarantee admission in to an MBA program offered by any institution.
