To ensure consistent standards of quality for private training, the government formed the Private Career Training Institute Agency (PCTIA) of BC. This board confers two types of standards.
Only accredited schools can be designated for British Columbia Students Assistance Program (BCSAP) funding.
The voluntary process of becoming an accredited college involves a rigorous self-study of the college and its operational procedures as well as detailed surveys of student satisfaction and successful job placement rates. The result being only the finest institutions are awarded accreditation.
