Sprott Shaw Victoria College collaborates closely with many employers within our community to ensure our training not only meets their needs, but surpasses their expectations. Employers frequently visit the campus and give HR seminars to the students on how to apply to their organization. This combined with the career planning programs that are in place at the campus, allows the students access to the important people making decisions on their future. Students are also shown the secrets of getting in the door.
Some of the top reasons students choose us over other schools are: our policy of acknowledging real life experience, and factoring this into the admission process; our FREE “lifetime refresher training”, which ensures grads and potential employers alike keep their skills up to date by having access to on-going professional development. In addition, our multiple start dates and flexible, small class sizes, offer a more personalized, interactive environment that ensures student success. Also students are continuously supported by individualized career counseling provided by accredited Career Advisors who are informed on current market and career trends and are network specialist in their communities.
We hope that your experience as a student here is as fun and exciting as our past graduates have described:
Victoria has something for everyone. There are the natural surroundings of the mountains and ocean which are perfect for outdoor activities, observing wild animals, and just enjoying nature. Also, there are many things to do within the city including dining, shopping, theatre, entertainment, and other attractions. We have a wide range of outdoor and indoor things to do to accommodate our changeable weather.
Explore the Nature
You can try one of the many outdoor activities available in Victoria including fly fishing, zipline tours, golfing, sailing, cycling, hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding. There are other ways to observe nature such as whale watching tours, chartering a helicopter ride to view Victoria from the air or you can go to Oak Bay Marina to feed seals.
There are several parks and gardens you can visit within the city as well as lakes and beaches located nearby. The Botanical Beach near Port Renfrew West has one of the most beautiful settings where you can see hundreds of different species of plants and animals in the ocean. There are so many outdoor experiences you can have if you go looking for it.
There are even sports teams you can join with varying levels of competition. A large amount of population regularly participate in group fitness activities such as yoga, spin class, pilates, boot camp, and the list goes on. It wouldn’t be uncommon to see Vancouverites dressed in yoga or fitness wear during their free time.
