This ECE certificate program gives the student the skills and occupational competencies necessary in the industry today based upon the Ministry of Education and Child Care approved curriculum.
Students will develop a broad range of skills through the study and practice of our certified and approved courses so they will be able to develop and lead daily activities for children. They will be able to carefully select age-appropriate materials for young children and develop programs and activities for the important early years of learning.
They will become nurturing and understanding Caregivers/Educators, who will implement these carefully selected materials and activities to help promote the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and early literacy development in each child.
Based on the Ministry of Education and Child Care approved curriculum, this online program provides students with the skills and occupational competencies necessary in the industry today. Each course contains content that is delivered both asynchronously and synchronously. Unlike self-directed learning, courses are delivered sequentially, mimicking the same format as on-ground delivery, and attendance is monitored.
For each course, an instructor will lead sessions (synchronously) that are delivered through a web-based video platform (Microsoft Teams). For other sessions, the student is guided through the online content (asynchronously) of written and recorded material for pre-lecture exercises, consolidation exercises, review, assignments, and exams. All practicum placements and touch back labs will be in-person, managed locally through the ECE Coordinator at the enrolling campus.
