Sprott Shaw’s new Electrical Foundations is now accepting applications for its March intake. This program is ideal for entry-level electrical trades training – no ITA sponsorship required. The program includes theory, electrical lab, shop and practical (CPR / First Aid and WHMIS Certificates).
The first Electrical Foundations class will be running at the newly relocated Sprott Shaw College School of Trades starting on March 30, 2015. The renovated 9700 square foot modern facility is centrally located just off Canada Way at 3216 Beta Avenue, Burnaby.
Upon successful completion of the diploma requirements, students will receive certification and a total of 350 hours towards their apprenticeship. The average wages of graduates after completing Foundations/Level 1 programs has been between $15-$21 an hour in the Lower Mainland. Wages can go as high as $28-$35 an hour once you complete your Red Seal training (WorkBC).
An Electrician is designated as a Construction Electrician under the Inter-Provincial Red Seal program. This ITA-BC approved modular program provides opportunities for students to gain employable lifetime skills, and provides employers with a highly trained and experienced workforce, while strengthening British Columbia’s economy.
Sprott Shaw’s Math for Trades program is also available to assist students in building a foundation of math skills required and related to various trade applications.
