  • Infection-control procedures are designed to prevent the
    spread of disease. This course introduces students to the
    fundamentals of microbiology as applied to dental clinic
    settings
  • Emphasizing the importance of understanding of the
    principles of infection control, transmission routes,
    prevention of disease transmission, disinfection/sterilization
    procedures, aseptic techniques, and PPE.
  • The role and responsibility of the chairside dental assistant
    for infection control in the dental care setting will be
    reinforced
