Infection-control procedures are designed to prevent the
spread of disease. This course introduces students to the
fundamentals of microbiology as applied to dental clinic
settings
Emphasizing the importance of understanding of the
principles of infection control, transmission routes,
prevention of disease transmission, disinfection/sterilization
procedures, aseptic techniques, and PPE.
The role and responsibility of the chairside dental assistant
for infection control in the dental care setting will be
reinforced
