It Turned Out to Be a Really Great Experience.

What were you doing before coming to Sprott Shaw College?

So I was working at a couple of part-time jobs. I was a hostess at Milestones and I was working in retail.

What program did you choose and why?

The program I took was Executive Office Administrator with Practicum.

Why did you choose Sprott Shaw College?

One day I was busing to work and saw the campus in Richmond and I realized I heard it on the radio and saw it everywhere and I heard a lot of good stories about it. So I decided to pursue it and it turned out to be a really great experience and I knew that everyone that left from here they were really happy and gaining confidence and found jobs and careers that they were happy in so I really wanted to be a part of something like that.

Where do you work? And can you explain your duties?

I work at SS Laser Tech, it’s a toner company and we service printers and machines. I am the receptionist there and some of my daily duties are transactions, invoicing and basically most of the stuff I learned at Sprott Shaw I am doing in my job right now.

If you could give advice to someone coming to Sprott Shaw what would you say?

Always believe in yourself and know that you’re not alone. Because when I came here I had low confidence but coming out I got a lot of confidence in myself, I believed in myself and I was surrounded by great people and positive energy so never stop believing in yourself.
