We are proud to introduce our 2024 Lower Mainland valedictorian graduates from our Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, and Trades campuses. It took hard work and dedication for each of our valedictorians to excel in their respective programs and we are proud to have them represent Sprott Shaw College as they embark on their new careers. You can find our favourite excerpts from the valedictorian speeches they gave at their graduation ceremonies below.
Vancouver Valedictorian: Sharla Koryzma – Practical Nursing
Sharla Koryzma, our valedictorian representing the Vancouver campus, spoke about her experience during her program, the support she received from her family, classmates, and campus faculty, and the positive impact her education will have on her career.
“We’ve discovered our strength in the face of adversity, whether it was mastering a difficult skill or navigating the challenges of a global pandemic. We will carry these lessons with us as we step out into the world to start our careers. Our new careers will be challenging, but I believe that every one of us is prepared to face whatever comes our way. Let us always strive to make a difference in the lives of those we serve, whether it’s through a warm smile, a gentle hand, or a listening ear.”
Downtown Vancouver Valedictorian: Dawn Eugenio – Practical Nursing

You made progress and success possible the moment you showed up for yourself even though there were times you did not feel like showing up. Even though there were days where it took a lot of your strength just to get up and go to class. Your efforts, perseverance, and dedication are what led you to this glorious day.”
