Sprott Shaw College

Students will be encouraged to research and openly discuss animal welfare topics they deem important and relevant. Canada’s Animal Welfare Act, laws and bylaws, the classification of animals as property, and penalties for harmful acts against animals will be addressed and discussed.
Students will be introduced to the health and welfare activities of animal shelters and veterinary clinics.
Students will attend field days within their local rescue centres.
