  • This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the activities of daily living (ADL), which are essential tasks that individuals must perform to maintain independence and quality of life. The course covers the basic and instrumental ADLs, including self-care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility, as well as more complex tasks like meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication management. Students will learn assessment techniques, intervention strategies, and the role of assistive technologies in supporting individuals with physical, cognitive, or developmental challenges. Emphasis will be placed on person centered care, promoting autonomy, and adapting ADL support to meet diverse needs across the lifespan.
