Dental Materials: This course is designed to introduce students to the preparation and application of dental materials in restorative and aesthetic procedures. Students will learn the clinical uses and the chemical, physical, mechanical and surface properties, handling characteristics, bioactivity, and biocompatibility of a wide variety of purpose-specific dental materials. The utilization of dental materials, mixing techniques, and safety protocol will be examined in the fabrication of mouthguards, diagnostic casts, study models and custom trays.
