This course offers a foundational understanding of pharmacology with a focus on its application in treating addictions and mental illnesses. Students will explore the principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, the mechanisms of drug action, and the therapeutic use of various drug classes. Emphasis is placed on understanding how pharmacological interventions can affect mental health and addiction, the role of medications in treatment plans, and the ethical considerations involved in prescribing and managing medications for these conditions.
