Pre-requisite: PHRM201, PHRM210, PHRM211, PHRM212, PHRM213, PHRM214, PHRM215, PHRM216, PHRM217 Co-Requisites: PHRM220, PHRM225
Students will put to practice the techniques and skills learnt during PHRM216 (Theory of Hospital Pharmacy Practice). This includes the aseptic preparation of compounded medications (everything from accurate calculations to utilizing correct technique, while maintaining a clean workspace), the preparation of prescriptions using Kroll® (and other relevant software) while adhering to provincial legislation, and other various pharmacy technician roles, including, but not limited to, receiving verbal prescriptions, training of point-of-care devices, and patient interviewing.
