Celebrating 120 Years of Sprott Shaw College – Thank You!
Even after 120 years, we never tire of helping students discover their passion, seeing our grads at commencement, and sharing their success when they start their careers. We love what we do here at Sprott Shaw College, and for our big 120th birthday, we wanted to take a moment to thank all our students and graduates over the years. It’s you that represents us to the world and makes us who we are—and we couldn’t be more proud.
To our nurses, dental assistants, and healthcare workers,
We are consistently amazed by your incredible work ethic, empathy, and care—especially during the challenges of a pandemic. Even after long shifts and challenging patients, you put the needs of others ahead of yourself—we see you. The word “hero” gets thrown around a lot, but every healthcare worker deserves the title. Thank you for all that you do.
To our early childhood educators and education assistants,
You are shaping the children who will grow to define our future. You find meaning and purpose in play, and help children develop into the best versions of themselves. We couldn’t be prouder of each one of you. When we see our graduates walking across the stage at commencement, we know our future is in good hands.
To our community support and addiction workers,
You dedicated your lives to helping our most vulnerable populations. You step up when many don’t, impacting lives and forging bonds that can last a lifetime. Whether in a group setting or working with an individual, you have a gift for connecting with people and helping them find their path forward. Your work matters more than you could ever realize—thank you for choosing to make a difference.
To our marketing, business, legal, and administration graduates,
We are so proud to see our graduates playing pivotal roles in businesses across BC and beyond. Each of you is a crucial component that keeps a modern office thriving. From ringing the “success bell” at your campus when you get your first career job to wherever your career takes you, thank you for letting us be a part of your journey.
To our trades graduates,
From the warmth in our homes to the electricity that powers so much that we rely on, you provide us with the essentials that are often taken for granted. Your attention to detail never fails to impress, as does your dedication to honing your craft. Thank you for all that you do for us.
And last but not least, to our amazing staff—past, present, and those to come,
You allow us to do what we do. Whether shaping minds, launching careers, or helping people find their passion—your commitment and care for our students is the foundation that we’ve built these last 120 years on. It’s people that define Sprott Shaw College, and every staff member contributes to making this school something to be proud of. For everything you do, thank you.
As one of the oldest educational institutions in Canada, our students are part of a proud history of learning, growing, and finding their passion and purpose. Change begins the moment you take a step towards improving your life with education—and we know that taking that step isn’t always easy. To the thousands across BC and beyond that have entrusted us with their higher education, we are honoured to have been a part of your journey.
To our amazing students, graduates, and staff, thank you for being a part of the Sprott Shaw College family. Here’s to an unforgettable 120 years, and many more to come.
