Josephine had been looking for her next step in life since she graduated from high school last summer. After consulting her sister, a current Sprott Shaw student who is “loving what she is learning and doing with her life,” Josephine decided to apply for a scholarship to the Medical Office Assistant Program.
“I’ve always wondered how that part of the medical field is always run perfectly,” Josephine writes. “I hear so much about this course, and how people love what they learn and being able to juggle several tasks at once.”
“While [I was] in my information session with a career advisor, a graduate came into the centre and talked to me about how she loved the course,” Josephine writes. “[She] tells people to go take it – it will change their lives.”
Josephine has now taken charge of changing her life. She was the recipient of a $4,000 Sprott Shaw grant and began her studies on April 8.
