Nice Scenery, Better Careers

Maple Ridge College

Relocating to Greater Vancouver, but don’t think Surrey is your thing?

Maple Ridge, the “entrance” to Golden Ears Provincial Park, is home to the Sprott Shaw Maple Ridge Campus, which features:

  • Small class sizes
  • Headquarters of SSC Corporate Training Programs
  • Free parking!
  • Central location amidst BC’s mountains and rivers
  • Mild weather, year-round sunshine, and very little snow

Health Care Assistant (HCA) and Administrative Assistant (AA) programs will be starting soon in Maple Ridge.

Sprott Shaw has developed Corporate Training and Government Programs to provide corporate employees with up-to-date career training. Whether you work in the private or public sectors, these programs can be custom-tailored to meet your professional development needs, and help you stay competitive in the changing workplace. Partners of the programs include Metro Vancouver (GVRD), WJS Canada, and Prince George Nechako Aboriginal Employment & Training Association.

Short-term certificate training is also available.

What else does the region have to offer?

Golden Ears, one of the best places to camp in Metro Vancouver, provides access to Alouette River, Alouette Mountain hiking trails, and countless other hiking, wildlife-viewing, and equestrian trails. It is home to the Twilight: Eclipse forest… and where much of Rambo: First Blood takes place.

Known as the Cities of Festivals along with neighbouring Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge offers arts and community events, a rich heritage (visit historic Port Haney!), circle farm and winery tours, horseback riding, convenient access to the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport (YPK) and Abbotsford International Airport (YXX), and a variety of aerial adventures: helicopters, seaplanes, and even skydiving.

If you are starting to feel the walls closing in on you, head to Maple Ridge – it may just be the breath of fresh air you (and your career) needed.
