Meet our School of Trades Instructors
Ryan B – Electrical
Upon completing journeyman training and gaining my Red Seal (interprovincial) status, I joined the board of directors of the former Renewable Energy Society and focused on teaching going “off-grid” and energy efficiency. As an instructor, I look towards forming the new generation of tradesmen by applying the Canadian Electrical Code rules and demonstrating proper installation and maintenance techniques.
Kevin M – Electrical
As my father was an electrician, I became inspired and signed up as an apprentice in 1994. I started my official career in custom homes and moved on to small commercial projects, high-rise condos, and large commercial projects before moving into teaching. I am a Red Seal electrician, foreman, lead hand, and business partner – and now since 2017, a Sprott Shaw instructor too.
Ken M – Electrical
In 1990, I became an apprentice, wiring hotels from start to finish. After I earned my Red Seal, I specialized in essential life support systems and wiring for apartment buildings and seniors’ homes, including all essential life support systems. After back surgery, I turned my attention to teaching and have been teaching electrical foundation for Sprott Shaw since.
Vili D – Electrical
I have been a certified journeyman/foreman electrician for over 20 years on more than 50 new home construction projects as well as dozens of other major commercial/industrial projects including new construction, retrofits, remodels, and plant expansions. After work, I turned to education. I earned my Bachelor of Education and have been an electrical trades instructor for over 5 years, with experience teaching levels 1 through 4.
