Practical Nursing Students Awarded Unique Certification

PN Harm Reduction Recipients

The Penticton Campus is extremely proud to announce that three of our Practical Nursing program (PN) students – Leigh S, Mike F & Amanda K have been awarded the BC Harm Reduction Certification. The BC Harm Reduction Certification allows individuals to provide emergency overdose medications to those in need.

Having heard about this program through a Sprott Shaw College campus presentation, the students took the initiative to train for certification in this community nursing field. Other than a number of Registered Nurses in the province, Leigh, Mike and Amanda are the only three civilians qualified to provide this service.

This is just a small indication of the dedication to nursing and community care that these students possess.
