December is here which means Christmas is right around the corner! The holiday season is a time to not only give presents to loved ones but to also give back to the community – especially to those who are less fortunate.
This year, our Kelowna campus knocked it out of the park with the annual city-wide Stuff-A-Bus campaign held to help those who are in need of a comforting meal this season. For the past 13 years, our Kelowna campus has been part of the Stuff-A-Bus event alongside Bell Media and Virgin Radio. The campaign encourages community members and anyone willing to help to bring in non-perishable food items for the Kelowna Food Bank.
Throughout the past month, students and staff from the Kelowna campus banded together to collect as many non-perishable food items as they could. This year, the campus raised over $2,000 worth of non-perishable food items! All of the door knocking and cupboard cleaning was worth it with these exceptional results! It’s incredible to see the impact our students and staff are making in the community.
On
behalf of Sprott Shaw College, thank you to all the volunteers and everyone
involved for donating their time and enthusiasm! And we couldn’t forget about
everyone who donated! A big thank you goes out to everyone who donated a food
item and contributed to the outstanding results we saw.
