What were you doing before attending Sprott Shaw College?
I was a housewife in Korea.
Why did you choose Sprott Shaw College?
I heard it has good programs for studying Early Childhood Education. That’s why I chose the school [and the ECE Post-Basic Program].
How was the admissions process?
It was fast and I didn’t have any problems.
What program did you choose and why?
I chose Early Childhood Education programs because I’m interested in young children and education. I used to work with children in Korea. So I thought it would be good for me to learn more in different ways in a different country.
What was the environment like during your time at Sprott Shaw College?
When I studied at the New Westminster campus, it was not far from my place. I was satisfied with the curriculum and the staff are kind and help the students. So I felt good during my courses and learned a lot until the end of my studies.
Where was your practicum or co-op and how was it?
I got 4 practicums in different daycare centers during my ECE Post-basic program (3 for ECE Basic program, 1 for Infant and Toddler program). Every center has different features and at those times I learned many things from the teachers who work in the daycare centers.
How long did it take you to find a job after graduation?
Thankfully I got a job before graduation!
Where do you work? Can you explain your duties?
I work in the daycare center. And I take care of the little kids who are around 2 years old.
I prepare the circle times like a class, change their diapers, help them to eat and to take naps.
If you could give advice to someone coming to Sprott Shaw, what would you say?
I would recommend the ECE programs at Sprott Shaw to them. I’d especially like to mention the New Westminster Campus for study. I think the curriculum was very practical and helpful for the students.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
I appreciate all staff at the New Westminster campus for their help and concerns for the students. Thanks to them, I completed my courses with a satisfactory grade. LOL!
