My Successful HCA Story

I enrolled in the HCA program because of my background in nursing. I chose Sprott-Shaw Community College due to its excellent standard quality of education. HCA program was designed to provide us with opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and good communication. To function as a front caregiver of long term settings which include both resident care facilities and home support agencies. Now that I finished HCA I became knowledgeable and ready to apply my theories and my practicum together, using my gentle care approach to elderly and disabled persons. I can provide a variety of services to assist residents’ needs which including bathing, ROM, personal care needs, toileting and oral hygiene etc. I can handle the physical demands of the work including proper using of ceilings, standing, full, manual and mechanical lift and position patients or residents, walking use of retrain and aggressive behaviour management practice.
