I have been living in Canada for 12 years and I felt I needed a better job and a step forward in my life. So I decided to go to [a college] in Surrey to take a Community Support Worker Program. Unfortunately, it did not work out because I had to go back to Fiji for a family funeral. When I got back from Fiji, [the other college] did not allow me to continue with my education. So I
had to find a different school. I found Sprott Shaw College by reading an article.
I talked to a program advisor and I enrolled in Resident Care Attendant Program. At first, it was very difficult and challenging for me, but I made an effort to study for 4-5 hours every day. As I was going through my program, I found it was very interesting and made me more confident at school. The thing I like the most is that we have a daily quiz and final assessment every second Friday. I have studied a lot to get good marks. I really want to thank my instructor, Kathlyn. She guided me throughout my program and helped me to be a successful resident care attendant.
