What We Love About Nurses (And Everyone Else in the Medical Industry)!

If you’re reading this, I think it’s safe to say that you’ve been in a hospital before. Maybe not recently or within the past few years, but at least once when you were born (and hopefully only that one time if you’re lucky).

If you’re fortunate enough to only ever have been in a hospital when you were born, then you probably don’t remember the team of medical and healthcare professionals who were supporting and guiding your family throughout the process.

Across the industry, nurses hold one of the most significant roles, making them imperative to the efficient flow of processes and procedures in hospitals, medical clinics, nursing homes, and more. In fact, without nurses (and everyone else working in the industry too!), healthcare and medical systems would collapse. Needless to say, we are grateful for our nurses and all of the extraordinary work that they do every day. Catch 5 reasons why we love our nurses so much!

1. Nurses Advocate for You

From the moment you’re admitted to the moment you’re released, nurses spend dedicated time with you to ensure that you are doing well and responding appropriately to treatment. Because of this, they can best understand how you’re feeling, your symptoms, and your progress.

By developing a thorough understanding of your progress, nurses can moderate your condition and communicate any issues or complications to your doctor as they arise. Through open communication, nurses can accurately understand how you’re feeling and what they can do to alleviate the situation.

2. Nurses Administer Attentive and Friendly Care

Nurses are the ones who provide support and care to patients. For nurses, one of their overarching roles is to care for patients and ensure that they’re comfortable and relaxed. Understandably, being in a hospital is not the definition of fun, but nurses help to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

3. Nurses Focus Solely on You

Typically, doctors are not able to engage and focus on the small things that each and every patient requires and calls for – which is where the role of the nurse comes in to save the day. Nurses devote their time and efforts to every patient to ensure that they are doing well on a day-to-day basis. By being able to focus solely on you, nurses make sure that you’re receiving the care and attention you need for your condition.

4. Nurses Inform You of What’s Going On

Undoubtedly, being in a hospital or medical clinic brings about a lot of fear, worries, and questions. What’s going to happen to me? What’s wrong with my body? What treatment or medications do I need?

While nurses collaborate with members of the healthcare team, including doctors, it is the nurses who are with us on a daily basis, advising us through what’s going on. Nurses understand our worries and explain the situation in a clear and concise manner.

5. Nurses Make Us Feel More Comfortable

For most people, a visit to the hospital, medical clinic, or doctors’ office is definitely not fun. However, nurses have the heart to offer a warm smile and friendly face to help make us feel more comfortable. Sometimes, a friendly face can make all the difference!

We hope these 5 reasons hearten you to love nurses as much as we do! Don’t forget to tell your own nurse how much you appreciate them next time you seem them!
