As an
inclusive post-secondary institution, Sprott Shaw College proudly participates
in and supports Anti-Bullying Day. For this cause, our campuses wear pink
shirts and participate in fundraisers to take our stand against bullying
behaviour. Year after year, we’ve seen prosperous results from the efforts at
our campuses – and this time was no exception.
This year,
Anti-Bullying Day was on February 26th. Once again, our 16 campuses
and head office participated in pink t-shirt sales and a variety of campus
events including fundraisers, bake sales, and raffle draws.
We would like
to extend a special shout to our School of Trades and East
Vancouver for their incredible efforts and contributions. Our Trades
campus raised $670 through t-shirt sales and a very successful raffle thanks to
the generous donations of Milwaukee Tools and our East Vancouver campus raised
over $522 through t-shirt sales.
Collectively
through the fundraising efforts, our campuses raised a whopping $3,998.70,
which is more than double of what we raised last year!
From the
money raised, 100% of proceeds will be going to Kids Help Phone to help children
and youth in need of support. But that’s not all! Sprott Shaw College will also
be matching all the numbers raised for Kids Help Phone (up to $5,000) – which
means that we will be donating a grand total of $7,997.40! This number is a
testament to how strongly our students, staff, and campuses believe in helping
and supporting one another.
A big thank you to everyone who donated and participated in any way. We couldn’t have accomplished all this without your help so thank you!
