What were you doing before attending Sprott Shaw College?

Before I started at Sprott Shaw College I was working as a travel agent.

Why did you choose Sprott Shaw College?

I was accepted into a fully-subsidized program through WorkBC and Sprott Shaw College.

How was the admissions process?

Getting through admissions was very easy!

What program did you choose and why?

I picked the Early Childhood Education program. This was in order to open my own licensed daycare, which is something I have wanted to do for a long time.

What was the environment like during your time at Sprott Shaw College?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my program was delivered online the whole year.

Where was your practicum or co-op and how was it?

My practicum took place at three separate daycares around Nanaimo.

How long did it take you to find a job after graduation?

I immediately opened my own multi-age licensed daycare after graduating!

Where do you work? Can you explain your duties?

Happy Hummingbirds Child Care Centre, owner and early childhood educator. I do it all!

If you could give advice to someone coming to Sprott Shaw, what would you say?

 Do it, I am 57 years old and finally have my dream job!
