Mortgage Deferrals – Mortgage payment deferrals are available for CMHC-insured loans. Contact your bank about non-insured loans.

Emergency Housing – Existing shelters still active and additional emergency options may be available.

BC Recovery Benefit – The BC Recovery Benefit is a one-time direct deposit payment for eligible families, single parents or individuals.

Employment Insurance (EI) – Existing EI benefit continues to be available. Provides up to $573/week to people who have lost income.

Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB) – Provides income support to employed and self-employed individuals who can’t work because they’re sick or need to self-isolate due to COVID-19.

Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB) – Supports those who can’t work because they must care for a child or sick family member.

The Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) – For self-employed workers and other workers not eligible for EI, who are transitioning from CERB and still need support.

Student Loans – StudentAid BC is responding to COVID-19 by providing emergency student financial assistance, adapting policy and streamlining processes to support students.

Budget Worksheet – Provided by Enriched Academy to help you plan your monthly budget more effectively.

ICBC – Monthly payment deferral for up to 90 days with no penalty.

BC Hydro – Bill deferral and payment plans available.

FortisBC – Billing, payments and other energy-related services.

Here2Talk Program

We know that being a student can sometimes be tough – Here2Talk can help!

Here2Talk connects students with mental health support when they need it. Through this program, all students – domestic or international – currently registered in a B.C. post-secondary institution have access to free, confidential counselling and community referral services, conveniently available 24/7 via app, phone and web.

For your convenience, Here2Talk provides counselling and support services in various languages upon request. They will try their best to match people to support in their preferred language. However, please note that language-specific counsellors, and third-party translation services are limited and therefore, subject to availability and/or a waiting time.

Access support from anywhere, anytime by:

  • Downloading the free ‘Here2Talk’ app from your device’s app store (available on Apple and Android devices) to call or chat with an advisor (no appointment needed)
  • Dialling 1-877-857-3397 to speak to an advisor over the phone or to book an appointment for a later date
