While these are challenging times, life still moves forward and the human spirit will show it is undeniable. At Sprott Shaw, we are committed to your ongoing education as well as your career aspirations and we will remain so throughout these challenging times.
During this period, Sprott Shaw College is now offering online learning of our programs through synchronous WebEx delivery.
WebEx is a video conferencing platform that allows us to maintain remote “face-to-face” structured classes that are 100% instructor-led. These virtual classes create an interactive learning experience for our students in the safety and security of their own homes.
Our smaller WebEx class sizes offer you more attention and support from our instructors and allow us to maintain the high quality of education we have strived for over the last 117 years.
While life may not always go as planned, you shouldn’t let that stop you from pursuing your career goals. From our new online admissions process to our online learning curriculum, you can stay on track, and move forward with your education.
Sprott Shaw College has survived two World Wars, the Great Depression, and 12 recessions and we’ve done this by continuing to adapt to changing demands. Contact us to learn more, and we’ll have an admissions advisor call you to answer all of your questions!
What our students are saying…
“WebEx is a great way to do class from the comfort and safety of our homes. While we are self isolating, it is so nice to see my instructor and classmates and have that social connection. It has been a perfect way to lift my spirits and give me a mental health boost. I find that it’s easy to learn still and we have all strengthened our communication skills using this format. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the Webex classes.”Jessica, Penticton Campus Student
“My experience with online learning has been great so far. [My Instructor] makes online learning as close to an actual class with fun activities like crazy hair and hoodie days. She makes sure everyone contribute in class and no one feels left out. She encourages questions and answers them right away. When I’m having a problem connecting to Webex or other web sites that we use, I email her and she responds right away. I think my instructor’s hard work and effort has helped make this online experience enjoyable.”Mieralecita, New Westminster Campus Student

While both alternative learning methods are on WebEx, they aren’t exactly the same.
Asynchronous WebEx Delivery is self-paced learning and essentially, not live. You don’t need to log in at the same time everyday and you can learn at your own pace.
On the other hand, Synchronous WebEx Delivery is not self-paced. With this, you will need to log in at the same time everyday and mark your attendance.
