Sprott Shaw College Surrey boasts a state-of-the-art dental clinic (opened in 2020) designed specifically for our renowned Dental Assistant program. It is the best place to learn using modern equipment and practices utilized in dental labs across the province.
The Dental Assistant program has been designed to meet the regulations governing certified dental assisting practices as defined by the BC College of Oral Health Professionals. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to write the National Dental Assisting Board examination.

I have been teaching and developing social work programs in Canada and the United States for the last 7 years. I have been teaching, studying, or practicing social work across Canada, the United States, and overseas for over 30 years. I have three Master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Social Work. I am currently teaching Community Support Worker (CSW) courses at Sprott Shaw.
I have two Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts, and a Law degree from various universities across Canada and the United States. I have practiced law for 25 years prior to teaching. I am currently teaching the Legal Administrative courses at Sprott Shaw.
Since earning my Bachelor’s in English and my TESOL certification, I have been working with children in public and private schools as well as adults of all levels including IELTS and tutoring for English language programs. I’ve also taught regular and business English online. I completed my studies in the Early Childhood Education program and have since worked in daycares, preschools, and out-of-school care, and have supervised and managed childcare centres.
I graduated from a Practical Nursing (PN) program and have since been working at the Fraser Health Authority on two surgical floors. While I have experience in the emergency department and on medical floors, my passion is for vascular and orthopedic care. I have been an instructor at Sprott Shaw for the past year.
I have over 10 years of experience teaching and coaching early childhood educators (ECE) and have been working in the field since 1979. I received my diploma in ECE and have completed the Daycare Business Course and the Advanced Licensing Officer Course. Over the years, I have worked in various centers across several capacities and was the owner/operating of a center in the Lower Mainland.
In 2004, I started my career in the healthcare field as a Health Care Assistant (HCA). I worked as an HCA for a few years before becoming a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in 2009. Currently, I am both an HCA instructor and working in an extended facility in Surrey as a licensed practical nurse.
I completed my Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma and my Education Assistant Diploma. I have worked both as an Early Childhood Educator and a Support Worker for over 8 years. In addition to teaching at Sprott Shaw I have also worked with a large number of centers and have been a part of the Center for Child Development.
I earned my MBA in the United States and have held senior management positions in several organizations. I have over 14 years of teaching experience and have taught business courses in MBA, BBA, Diploma, and Certificate programs. My teaching experience stands in management, marketing, entrepreneurship, human resources management, organizational behaviour, leadership, digital marketing, and much more.
I have been a certified Education Assistant for over 16 years, working in several school districts across the province. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to teach at an Indigenous school for a year, which I consider to be one of the best highlights of my career so far. I also recently moved from the small town of Princeton and have fallen in love with city life.
I have been with Sprott Shaw for 22 years teaching the Medical Office Administrator (MOA), Health Unit Clerk (HUC), and Business Program. I have experience working in managerial, project management, on-the-job training, and mentor roles, particularly with the government. I have been a lead instructor for both the MOA and HUC programs, development and updating the curriculum according to industry standards.
I have my BBA in Accounting and Finance, Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) III, Bachelor’s in Geology, and several investment and insurance licenses. For over 24 years now, I have been teaching business and computer-related courses at Sprott Shaw. I have also worked in retail, accounting, financial planning, and insure for 7 years and warehousing, supervision, and sales for almost 3 years.
I am the Campus Education Manager at the Surrey campus. Since earning my doctorate in English Literature, I have worked as a university and college instructor in London, Ontario, and Vancouver, BC. I have taught Academic Writing and Literature courses in public and private colleges and am currently teaching the General Education courses at the Surrey campus, in addition to offering additional support and coaching to the instructors teaching various courses.
I have a Master’s in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management, and more than 10 years of working experience. I have been with Sprott Shaw for almost 3 years teaching Strategies for Student Success and Career and Professional Development. My goal is to help students succeed during study and guide them with employment after graduation.
I am the Practical Nursing Coordinator for the Practical Nursing program and Health Care Assistant program at the Surrey campus. I have 7 years of teaching experience, and 12 years of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), specializing in pediatrics.
I am the Health Care Assistant (HCA) Lead Instructor and also a Practical Nursing Instructor. I have over 6 years of nursing experience in all fields including, but not limited to acute care, community, and care managing. I graduated from a licensed practical nursing program in 2013 and have experience in both public and private health sectors.
I have been with Sprott Shaw since January 2019. I have 10 years of nursing experience in both licensed practical nursing (LPN) and registered nursing (RN). I specialize in High Intensity Rehab Units and Surgical Orthopedics in the public health care sector at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
I have 2 years of teaching experience, and 5 years of nursing experience. I have obtained my high acuity certification, and have worked in Surgical General & Thoracic.
