Over the years, I have worked in healthcare fields including family practice, audiology, urgent care, addiction medicine, gender affirming care, and hormone replacement therapy. Since graduating from Sprott Shaw in 2016, I have worked for and alongside over 20 physicians and clinicians.
In 2009, I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychiatric Nursing. Since then, I have worked in inpatient psychiatry, transitional care, rehabilitation and residential care, and acquired brain injury unit. I have been teaching at Sprott Shaw in the Practical Nursing program since 2015.
In 2007, I became a nurse and specialized in acute care surgical nursing. While I have been with Sprott Shaw since 2013, it wasn’t until 2015 when I became the Practical Nursing Coordinator on campus. I obtained my Instructor Diploma in 2016.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2007. I moved to the west coast in 2008 and worked for Vancouver Coastal Health, specializing in labour and delivery (maternity) nursing. I have been an instructor with Sprott Shaw since 2018 and completed my Instructor Diploma in 2019.
In 2011, I earned my practical nursing license (LPN) from Sprott Shaw. I have 8 years of nursing experience and 2 years of experience as a clinical instructor. My experience includes serving as the team leader of young adult brain injury units and locked dementia units. I have also worked in acute care, oncology, and clinical diagnosis units at the Kelowna General Hospital.
I began working in healthcare in 1999 as a personal care attendant in Alberta. In 2006, I moved to Kamloops and began the Practical Nursing program at Sprott Shaw, graduating in 2007. I have worked in several areas such as home care, long-term care, and acute care at the Royal Inland Hospital. I have been teaching at Sprott Shaw since 2015 in both the Health Care Assistant and Practical Nursing programs.
I am a certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) who has completed studies around inclusion and working with children with special needs and diverse abilities. Prior to instructing at Sprott Shaw, I worked in the ECE field for over 18 years. My experience includes working directly with children in preschools and childcare settings and serving as a director of a large group center.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing. I have over 30 years of experience in marketing and management in the pharmaceutical, educational, and cosmetic industries. I also have over 10 years of experience as an instructor in Canada, Dubai, and Germany.
I worked as a child/youth & family care counselor for 7 years in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast. I was also a Youth Care Worker, Job Coach, and Educational Assistant for a School District in the Cariboo Chilcotin area. Prior to joining Sprott Shaw, I owned and operated a licensed daycare.
I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Associate of Arts Degree, and Human Services Worker Certificate (social service work). I have over 23 years of field experience working as a Detox Worker and Residential Care Aide and experience in the mental illness and developmentally developed field.
I graduated from Sprott Shaw in 2002. After working with senior counsel in large litigation firms, I became a designated paralegal and in partnership, managed a successful family law practice in Northern BC for 12 years. Having a desire to guide and support those in need, I’ve served various boards such as the John Howard Society, Elizabeth Fry, and the Phoenix Transition Society. I have been instructing at Sprott Shaw since 2016.
I have been a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for almost 5 years. I have experience in geriatrics, acute care, treatment centres, and home care. I have also worked with the inmates at the Surrey Pre-Trial Correctional Centre. I recently started with Sprott Shaw in 2019 and am currently working on becoming a Registered Nurse (RN).
Since 2007, I have been working in the healthcare field specializing in geriatrics. I am very passionate about providing high qualities of compassionate care. As teaching is an area I have I have always wanted to pursue, I am grateful to be working at Sprott Shaw.
